Quilty update

Picspam of the current handpiecing project. It doesn't have a name yet but the blocks are Marti Mitchell's 'Hands All Around'.

Three-quarters of the layout, with pieces of the final block laid in for contrast. I have to stitch that one yet. Two blue, two green, two light, two reversed (dark).

(This image is 23% of the original photo. My camera files are big liek woah. Must consult the destructions again.)

Each block is 12" square and features inset seams, curved piecing, and dot-to-dot sewing. It's the kind of stuff I see described in the magazines as 'advanced', the kind of project people shy away from. I say; take your time, mark and sew accurately with patience to match dots and it will fall together so easily you'll wonder what all the fuss was. I did. Oh--and starch. Make the fabric stiff and grain lines/bias edges will hold no terror. :)

I shall re-press the dark green block as I don't like the way the seams are sitting, and if I leave it, it'll only irritate me every time I look at the finished quiltlet.

One block in close-up.

And now a spot of editing before I knock back the dough. A bi! :)
