[Error: unknown template qotd] The one where I visited St Michael's Mount. We stayed in a small hotel in Marazion, walked across the causeway and explored the mount and castle. I remember standing in a high place and watching the leading edge of bad weather crawl up the coast towards us and wondered aloud if we'd make it back to the mainland before it hit. We didn't. : ) By the time we reached the the row boats, it was teeming down. Alighting on the mainland quay (and very wet!) we half ran, half jogged back to the hotel laughing, soaked to the skin, and had to get warm again in a hot bath. It didn't matter, we had fun.

Someone who had more than two facial expressions, (ie, could actually omg act), looked masculine enough to be credible rather than a pretty boy, didn't look like he should be in school (seriously, if the Doctor gets much younger, his female companions will be accused of cradle snatching!), and who could project some on-screen charisma and a bit of 'edginess'--the whole 'I'm not human and I'm seeing the bigger picture here'.

That said, I have no candidate. I've been a Dr Who fan for many years and at this point, I'm heartily glad to be shot of the welsh idiot who thought he could write and turned the series in a trashy soap opera. Maybe now we'll get some decent stories; credible forward-projected science, plot holes tied off neatly, convincing threads, gradual authentic character development, and if you want to create a story arc, plot it out from start to finish and then slip bits in to each completed story.

But I won't be holding my breath...

I adore Schnauzers--intelligent, quick-witted and affectionate, plus they barely shed their coats and so they would win my vote. Poodles would be a very close second. Cockerpoos and labradoodles a very close third.

[Error: unknown template qotd] First user icon... That would some stupid thing I built up in one of those avatar-creating thingies. You were supposed to be able to customise it to look like you. It didn't, and I binned it when I found icon comms. Mostly, I make my own now.

Why did I choose my current default? *shakes head* Because I like it? It appeals to my sensibilities? I have a thing for pictures of the moon/hares? It's evocative? Why does anyone choose anything? God, what a thick question!

Absolutely! I have a dragon called Ianthe, after the Liberty fabric from which she is made, other dragons called Lin Yao, Liang T'ianpo, a puffin called Huffin, a cute little Blue Nose Friend panda called Bamboo, a reindeer called ‘Prongs’ and a wolf with huge, Enormous pawsitude, called Moony.
