Writer's Block: Celebrating Friendships

[Error: unknown template qotd]How interesting! I don't have any 'friends' on LJ, I have a reading circle. There are journals/blogs I follow and comment on but I wouldn't call the bloggers 'friends'; they're people with whom I share a common interest.

No idea what the original quote was but the removal of the emotive and confusing 'friends' moniker is something I do love greatly about DW. I do have journal/blog friends, but there are also a lot of times where I don't want to be friends. Plus the occasions when I'm not sure, so want to test the waters. All of which is gloriously possible here - everyone wants something different, and DW enables that to happen without forcing us to be bosom buddies with everyone we come across.

Yes, I quite agree. 'Friends' is a loaded word to use of someone you've just 'met' in cyberspace. I get to know people slowly in Rl, why shouldn't the process apply here?
