Writer's Block: The Greenest Grass
17 Apr 2009 07:50 pm[Error: unknown template qotd] Oh fer cryin' out loud... Would I be too far off the mark in suggesting that each sex will say the other has it easier? First, define 'easier'. And then decide how to evaluate perception; ie, how one sex makes sense of the way the other interprets information/data.
My take: men and women are equal and complementary. Each sex has their strengths and weak spots. We're supposed to supply the deficencies of the other to create a team. It's the yin/yang thing.

Writer's Block: Heavenly Bodies
8 Apr 2009 09:57 am[Error: unknown template qotd]Now here's a fun question! I rather think the name for the new planet would depend on its appearance and characteristics. One would hardly wish to name an inhospitable planet L'Amathage, unless one had a stupendous sense of irony--rather along the lines of the naming of Greenland.
So, that said, I'd study all available information and then decide. I'd either use a name from mythology or make one up. Or go for something along the lines of P3X 974. *runs away laughing*

[Error: unknown template qotd] The one where I visited St Michael's Mount. We stayed in a small hotel in Marazion, walked across the causeway and explored the mount and castle. I remember standing in a high place and watching the leading edge of bad weather crawl up the coast towards us and wondered aloud if we'd make it back to the mainland before it hit. We didn't. : ) By the time we reached the the row boats, it was teeming down. Alighting on the mainland quay (and very wet!) we half ran, half jogged back to the hotel laughing, soaked to the skin, and had to get warm again in a hot bath. It didn't matter, we had fun.
Writer's Block: Doctor Who?

Someone who had more than two facial expressions, (ie, could actually omg act), looked masculine enough to be credible rather than a pretty boy, didn't look like he should be in school (seriously, if the Doctor gets much younger, his female companions will be accused of cradle snatching!), and who could project some on-screen charisma and a bit of 'edginess'--the whole 'I'm not human and I'm seeing the bigger picture here'.
That said, I have no candidate. I've been a Dr Who fan for many years and at this point, I'm heartily glad to be shot of the welsh idiot who thought he could write and turned the series in a trashy soap opera. Maybe now we'll get some decent stories; credible forward-projected science, plot holes tied off neatly, convincing threads, gradual authentic character development, and if you want to create a story arc, plot it out from start to finish and then slip bits in to each completed story.
But I won't be holding my breath...

Writer's Block: Starting Out Fresh
2 Jan 2009 02:32 pm[Error: unknown template qotd] I know this happens in the farming community, that they do a bit of everything to 'show their intentions', as it were but not that what happens on one day 'sets the tone' for the year.
How did I spend the day? Much the same as any other; preparing meals, cooking, washing up afterwards, washing clothes, taking them to and from the dryer, ironing, making beds etc, usw, and so forth. A few rounds of sock knitting, some quilting. Do I think it will influence the rest of the year. Not really. No decisions that will cause change were taken. I don't accept that reducing the lamb gravy to a burnt mess is significant simply because it happened on new year's day.

Extchûthez-mé? September is what...?? On what planet?
How do I like to pleasure my mate? I do various things; give him space, cook little treats, think up fun things to do spontaneously, flirt with him, let him do things for me even though I could perfectly well do it for myself, and... other things. *smiles with a glint in her eye* But that's for me to know and you to imagine. ;)

Writer's Block: My Userpics
18 Jun 2008 09:29 am[Error: unknown template qotd] First user icon... That would some stupid thing I built up in one of those avatar-creating thingies. You were supposed to be able to customise it to look like you. It didn't, and I binned it when I found icon comms. Mostly, I make my own now.
Why did I choose my current default? *shakes head* Because I like it? It appeals to my sensibilities? I have a thing for pictures of the moon/hares? It's evocative? Why does anyone choose anything? God, what a thick question!

Just in case this writer's block goes squiffy: Do I ever want to be of the opposite sex? Yes, from time to time. What attracts me to the idea? The experience. A simpler mental life. Independance.
I can think of other reasons but prefer to keep those to myself, mèrcie bein des fais.

Absolutely! I have a dragon called Ianthe, after the Liberty fabric from which she is made, other dragons called Lin Yao, Liang T'ianpo, a puffin called Huffin, a cute little Blue Nose Friend panda called Bamboo, a reindeer called ‘Prongs’ and a wolf with huge, Enormous pawsitude, called Moony.
Well, the ironing won't do itself...
