Oo! Shiny!

Goodies arrived at my door today.

I have plans for each of these. Left to right, the hand painted batik says landscape to me. I've admired the journal quilts in Quilting Arts and have ideas on creating one using one of my photographs as a design source/inspiration. The brown/blue bonsai batik is an awesome colour mix and several cuts of this will go into the Economy block quilt I've been piecing off and on for over a year. The next one, a pale aqua with lines that remind me of seaweed, is crying out for fish or maybe a gliding, sleek otter. (Note to self: look out for a batik that suggests an otter. lol) The last, all my favourite blues and greens, has 'seahorse' written all over it, in my eyes, anyway. I hope to do something clever and cut a piece of the 'weed' to make it 3D and so that I can wrap the seahorse's tail around it, as they do when they anchor themselves.
Is it any wonder so many ideas fall by the wayside when new fabrics sing to me with images and possibilities? Ah ça. À bi!
