Was able to see the final in the series of ITV adaptations of Jane Austen's books last night, Persuasion. I deduced two things; am hopeless romantic and Rupert Penry-Jones is hot!
Oh, the flangst! And the awkward silences and stolen glances and seconds of intense eye contact and, and, and the kiss at the end!! (I *so* want to pinch the idea and write it -- but for which pairing??)
It brought back memories, for other reasons. Part of the story takes place in Lyme Regis, a place I know well. I have walked The Cobb, stared at Golden Cap and down Chesil beach towards Portland, been spray-lashed, built sand castles in the little harbour bay, admired the Ammonite house and brought home pebbles to be painted.
*sighs*
