At breakfast my L upper 5 gave up and fell out. I rather think I'm in for a crown to replace it. I had ham and mushroom tagliatelli for lunch and am feeling sleepy and sniffly as a result.

Attempted a tension swatch on circ needles of the Louisa Harding 'glisten'. I must be doing something wrong because knitting every round gives me exactly that; garter stitch. I'm going to hunt for more information.

*Oh my!!*

Was able to see the final in the series of ITV adaptations of Jane Austen's books last night, Persuasion. I deduced two things; am hopeless romantic and Rupert Penry-Jones is hot!

Oh, the flangst! And the awkward silences and stolen glances and seconds of intense eye contact and, and, and the kiss at the end!! (I *so* want to pinch the idea and write it -- but for which pairing??)

It brought back memories, for other reasons. Part of the story takes place in Lyme Regis, a place I know well. I have walked The Cobb, stared at Golden Cap and down Chesil beach towards Portland, been spray-lashed, built sand castles in the little harbour bay, admired the Ammonite house and brought home pebbles to be painted.

*sighs*

I watched the last in the short series of 'Lewis' last night. (Lewis was the DC for Inspector Morse, and is now a DI himself with a DC called Hathaway.) The story was good-if-involved, with plenty of mirroring and (I felt) a couple of wild leaps but the working relationship/ friendship between Hathaway and Lewis finally seemed to gel in this one. Some of the dialogue was shriek-out-loud funny in the kind of way that sticks in your head for ages after and keeps you chuckling. Or it does if you're like me. ;-)

I'm now waiting patiently (Uh-huh?) for more 'Foyle'.

I've admired the work of a particular artist for over 3 years and always known that owning a piece was beyond my stars. Owing to a chain of circumstance, I can now afford to buy all three of this year's edition.

I no longer want to. I find that incredibly curious. How many of the things that lie beyond our reach would we still want if there was suddenly no barrier to obtaining them?

Today

was the day for a good walk. Along the coastal path and the dunes. It was especially warm in the sun as there wasn't the least air movement. Until the pause for some wayside refreshment, that is, and then, as is their wont, the clouds bubbled up out of nowhere and the onshore breeze had me reaching for fleece and jumper! My trainers have given me gyp (new ones) but I feel better for the exercise.

Boo!!

Nearly a week internet-less. I miss the net when I don't have it, if only cos it's so easy to research on it.

I kept my record of remaining tokenless on Valentine's day. I spent it making tea for the 3 workmen who put up the scaffolding for another 3 men to fix the roof. Now I have a fight with the loss adjusters over the insurance claim.

Got to fly now!

*Ooo!*

Which translates roughly as a delighted squeal. I didn't expect delivery so soon. I planned for it to arrive next week, around the 14th, since I think I'll be keeping my unbroken record for another year! Considering half the country is under 'the worst snow for 10 years', I thought delivery would have been more remote than 2 days from order.

That's by-the-by. It's Caithness, surprisingly heavy and called 'Love Potion'. It'll probably turn up in a story one day. :p

We have a thick, well, *fog* this morning. I presume it's air frost because it's very very cold out there. The weather forecast assured 'glorious sunshine' for today and I had thought it would be good to wrap up and go for a walk, clear the cobwebs. Maybe later.

After a fruitless wait for my delivery (hitches and vexations; it's coming on Monday now.) I had to go shopping later than usual. Coming home about quarter past 5, the moon had just risen and hung, large and low, on the horizon. I likened it to a newly minted Sickle tainted with blood. I may drabble Tonks so I can use that line.

And now, I can hear a cup of tea calling me. TTFN

*Yikes*

I've just heard that JKR has announced the last HP book on 21st July!!

I wonder if we'll get lots of good stuff about Lily and James in this one. I really hope so. And I will quit spamming your pages now. :P
