P&Q: au coin d'l'âtre
4 Nov 2007 11:07 amLast evening I got brave and quilted with my Husky. I tried hand quilting but was dissatisfied with the result so I decided to have a go on the sewing machine. I worked on this quiltlet.

I'd previously quilted 'in the ditch' of the blocks and wanted to echo quilt the border. For a first attempt, I'm satisfied with it. I want to give the ivory block centres the same treatment and I'm realising I went about the quilting order 'arse about face', as dad would have said. (lol) I ought to have done those first, then the ditch, and the borders last. Ah ça! Lesson learned. Rule number 3:PLAN! :D
I'm led to believe 'it's not a quilt until it's labelled'. I've never labelled quilts before. The magazines suggest Pigma pens. Without a LQS this means a meander through a net shop. Oh, the temptation! Then I shall have to make a hanging sleeve in case I decide to display it that way--another first. :)
À la préchaine!
